Community Green

Community Green is a major venture that has been set up to enhance the wellbeing and mental health of children and adults in Tameside, through increased access to green space. Based at our large allotment in Dukinfield, Community Green offers a range of projects including Allotment Tots, Sister Shed and the Great Gardening Group.

The projects provide opportunities to plant, grow and harvest, cook outdoors, try DIY or crafts and help maintain our community allotment. No gardening experience needed, just an enjoyment of being outside.

In addition, it’s a great way to meet new people, enjoy some fresh air and reduce feelings of loneliness.

There are toilets, hand washing facilities, and hot drink facilities at the allotment.

Community Green is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.

Please check our What's On Page to see our current projects.

If you'd like to volunteer at Community Green please see our current volunteer opportunities.
